The Library is committed to supporting families by introducing a love of reading, learning, libraries and books in every child who comes through our doors. Our commitment to early literacy is achieved through providing fun and interactive learning experiences through quality programming.
Our most popular, regular program is Storytime which allows children to have fun with books and interact with their caregivers and other children in a positive way.
The majority of our staff energy and enthusiasm and our library programming budget is dedicated to our annual six-week Summer Reading Program (SRP) in June and July. We participate in the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) which is a group of librarians who choose a yearly theme for summer reading, create artwork and other support materials that can be used by all libraries for their individual programs. Past themes have been: Libraries Rock (music) and A Universe of Stories (air and space).
People of all ages may participate, and parents are encourage to participate and read with their kids. Children are giving bingo reading log sheets that they fill out and turn in each week to receive a free prize and chance to win bigger prizes. Adults fill our book review forms for prizes.
